Interactive Mapping

Interactive, internet-based mapping systems can provide a geographical view of development information. It enables users to visualize key development data such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Natural Disaster Hotspots, and World Bank-financed projects at the global, regional, and national boundary level. Currently there are two interactive maps available:

Natural Disaster Hotspots Millenium Development Goals (MDG)

The Natural Disaster Hotspots application provides information about the human and economic impact of natural disasters and shows those World Bank financed projects which address these issues. It was developed in conjunction with the publication: "Natural Disaster Hotspots Case Studies", as part of the overall Hazard Risk Management Program. The MDG application provides information about the goals outlined in Millenium Declaration and highlights those World Bank financed projects which aid in the achievement of those goals. This is a pilot initiative and therefore does not supply a comprehensive dataset. For more detailed information on the MDGs and more complete datasets, please see the Millennium Development Goals website. For more information about the World Bank's projects, please see the Projects Database.
